I had my first dental appointment at VA Modern Dentistry and I'm impressed with the care and expertise shown. They were very thorough and professional with the check up and cleaning, and I felt more informed about my dental status and progress. I'm glad that they were honest because now I know what all I need to do to keep my teeth healthy. I'm glad I made the change from my previous dentist.

Very disappointing experience with Virginia Modern Dentistry. Their main goal seems to be maximizing insurance payments, regardless of your actual needs or schedule. The hygienist, whose name I don’t recall, was rude and pushy. On my first visit, she recommended an expensive deep clean. When I returned from overseas and no longer had insurance, I said I’d pay out of pocket for a routine cleaning. She refused to do it because I hadn’t followed her recommendation, even though I explained it was due to not having insurance. Her assistant then performed a so-called routine cleaning using only dental floss. When I questioned if he was seriously trying to pass dental floss off as a cleaning, Dr. Abady apparently was magically around the corner, storms in as the assistant says yes and tells me he'll be doing a cleaning. He then finally performed a proper cleaning which should have been done from the start. To top it off, I had billing issues where both my insurance and I were charged. The reason they have good reviews is because they dang near don't let you leave without posting a great review before leaving there office. There are many other dentists who are more ethical and not gimmicky trying to oversell. I do NOT recommend.

This review is for Heidi, the hygienist. She is no less than a surgeon or a DDS. She is professional and personable. She feels that the procedure is happening on her. As a result, she will not just explain you the steps but guide you step by step so the patient isn’t in the dark. Heidi uses the best and the most updated products on her patients and along with her, I want to give the credit to this incredible DDS, Dr. Abady. His practice is honest and helpful. His front office staff are highly knowledgeable and friendly, especially Toni, well-dressed and ready to help all patients. I will recommend this dentistry without any reservations. They are generous and genuine; and, the whole practice is ready to help you.

Staff was very warm and welcoming the dentist Dr Mielad Abady is very caring and concerned and not pushy. The atmosphere was comfortable I was pleased. And it's very convenient for me.
