I have had dangerous situations receiving medical care in the past so I was recommended to come to this practice because of their understanding of people with medical anxiety. Unfortunately, this was a huge step backwards for me in terms of being comfortable reviving medical care. If you have anxiety about medical/dental care I don't think you should get a procedure done here. Don't be fooled by their kindness during the consultation; day-of they will just do whatever they think it fastest with disregard to any of the agreements they made during the consultation to make you more comfortable. At the consultation I asked if it would be possible for me to get my IV in my hand instead of my arm because of past experiences getting an IV in my arm, Dr. Rothman looked at my hands and said that would be no problem. Day-of, I reminded him that I wanted it in my hand before the procedure and he agreed again. Then despite the fact that I was pleading with him not to and crying he did the IV insertion in my arm. I prepared for months to get comfortable getting the IV in my hand and I thought he was understanding of why I wanted the IV in my hand but then in the moment of highest anxiety about the situation he betrayed me. The nurse who was hooking me up to the monitors before the procedure was mean about my anxiety surrounding medical procedures. I mentioned that I don't like needles and she said "only heroic addicts like needles". My uncle died of a heroin overdose, so not only so I not find that even borderline appropriate, I also don't think it's true. When she went to put a blood pressure cuff on me I told her I wasn't aware that I would have to get that put on before I was under sedation and I also have some issues with that. She was going to be putting it on an arm I already have a medical device on which can be compromised by compression. She interrupted my explanation of this and in a mocking tone said "Really, a blood pressure cuff? I have to put this on, there's no choice." Completely ignoring that I was just asking for 30 seconds to mentally prepare. She also completely ignored my concerns about putting the cuff over my medical device and did it anyway. This caused my a lot of skin irritation in the following days at the insertion site of the device which was agitated by the blood pressure cuff for the entirety of the procedure. She asked me if I was on anxiety medication which I answered truthfully thinking it was a genuine medical question being asked by a medical professional. She then followed that question up with, "because you are freaking out right now." This was embarrassing to me as I was trying my best to remain calm and I was calm until she disregarded all of my concerns- which is where most of my medical anxiety began in the past. I also found this to be another unprofessional comment. No one who is on anxiety medication is happy to be anxious and wants to react with anxiety in situations that other people can handle fine. I was shocked at her lack of understanding of this. I told her that I had been preparing for this appointment for months and just needed a moment and she didn't need to be mean about it. When I was visibly upset about all of this she leaned down in front of me and in a very condescending tone told me "you need to calm down" as if I was reacting this way on purpose to make the 10 minutes she spent in the room purposefully more difficult for her. I told her to please not talk to me that way and she just left the room while I was upset leaving me completely alone in the room and hooked up to the monitors so I couldn't go find anyone else to ask what was happening. I was really confident in this practice after my consultation but unfortunately they really disappointed me. My dentist specifically recommended I go here because she is aware of my medical anxiety. I'll be letting her know not to recommend this practice on that merit anymore. I waited a few weeks to post this review because they told me they would be reaching out to discuss the concerns I had. They never did.

Had implant surgery with Dr. Rothman. Outcome was perfection. Much better than my earlier implant in same location on opposite side. Final “tooth” was like the original tooth. I can’t tell the difference.

I've been a patient of Jeffrey Rothman for over ten years. He's extracted my wisdom teeth, cut another three teeth out and put in 4 implants over this time period. Everyone in his office is kind, friendly and understanding. I've also had work done other members of his staff, all of them are fantastic. Thanks doc !!!
